The first line of defence for TCE’s digital environment!
Join Townsville Catholic Education as a Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst, where you’ll play a vital frontline role in protecting the digital systems that support learning, wellbeing and connection across our schools and services.
In this hands-on operational role, you’ll monitor cyber detection systems, triage and respond to security incidents, and support the continuous improvement of cyber security controls that safeguard students, staff and critical technology assets across the Diocese.
You’ll bring practical experience working with cyber technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IPS, email security platforms, application control systems and vulnerability management tools. You’ll be confident reviewing and validating security alerts, investigating suspicious activity, analysing firewall and web filtering events, and supporting patching and configuration compliance to reduce risk. Familiarity with recognised security frameworks such as the ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001 or NIST will support your ability to work within established standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
Calm under pressure and highly detail-oriented, you’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities, documenting incidents through ITSM systems, and communicating clearly with a range of stakeholders. Your professionalism, discretion and commitment to confidentiality will be essential when handling sensitive security information, particularly within a complex education environment.
Townsville Catholic Education has standards of conduct for workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children. Our commitment to these standards requires that we conduct working with children checks and background referencing for all staff. The organisation is fully committed to child safety and has a zero tolerance to abuse of children or adults-at-risk.
