Salary Range: $105,513- $118,755 per annum pending experience

Tenure: Full Time, Permanent 
Commencing Date: Monday 22 September 2025

About the role

Townsville Catholic Education (TCE) is currently seeking a experienced Human Resource Information System Audit and Administrator. This is a Full-Time, Permanent role commencing on Monday 22 September 2025.

The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Audit and Administrator is responsible for ensuring TCE’s payroll system is compliant with all relevant industrial agreements and legislation. The role will liaise closely with the Payroll Coordinator and Aurion configuration team to manage system accuracy and compliance in calculating employee’s payroll and storage of all human resource information.

The role will further conduct regular audits, data integrity checks and scenario testing, to ensure Aurion’s build and design is operating in line with relevant industrial agreements and legislation, and that data entered into the HRIS is accurate.

As the system expert, the role will demonstrate it’s analytical and quantitative skills to provide payroll reporting as required, whilst supporting and educating the broader payroll and HR team to develop their skills in system reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure HRIS design and operation aligns with legislation and industrial agreements
  • Liaise with Aurion to manage system configuration and updates
  • Audit data integrity and system accuracy through regular testing
  • Recommend improvements to payroll and HR practices
  • Educate teams on audit findings and system usage
  • Provide payroll reporting and support operational efficiency
  • Maintain organisational structure and workflows in Aurion
  • Document processes, guidelines, and user manuals for system administration
  • Monitor system changes and support process adjustments
  • Build reporting capability across payroll and HR teams
  • Maintain an issues register for HRIS-related updates
  • Analyse complex HR/payroll systems for performance and compliance
  • Support payroll operations during peak periods or staff absences
  • Uphold Catholic values and contribute to a safe, respectful workplace
  • Participate in professional learning and comply with all TCE policies

About you

  • Experienced in HRIS administration (Aurion preferred) and payroll compliance
  • Skilled in data analysis, reporting tools, and advanced Excel functions
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently within a team
  • Quick to learn new technologies and integrate them effectively
  • Values-driven, collaborative, and adaptable in dynamic environments

Mandatory Criteria

  • Extensive experience in HRIS system administration.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, ITS, Business or another relevant field highly regarded.
  • Current paid Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain prior to commencement, per No Card, No Link, No Start legislation)
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Willingness and capacity to travel within the Diocese, as required
  • Physically capable of performing the role safely

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in the education sector would be highly regarded.
